The Central Victorian Highland Dancing Classic has been part of Scots Day Out Bendigo since the very first year and highland dancers continue to be a huge favourite with the big crowd in Rosalind Park.
For six years, the classic was organised through the Bendigo-based Victorian Highland Dancing Society and saw adjudicators and competitors from across Australia and New Zealand participate in the event.
While VHDS has now disbanded, Scots Day Out has been delighted to accept the kind offer of the Victorian State Committee of Highland Dancing to take on organisation of the Central Victorian Classic that will continue to engage highly-accomplished adjudicators from across Australia. State committee regards SDO as one of Victoria's important competitions.
The dancers in 2019 will again be part of the opening parade down View St into Rosalind Park and present a colourful display during the massed band finale.
